Brighton Beach, setting for movies..

I’m at one of the famous Brighton Beach subway entrances, which were used in the movie “Brighton Beach Memoirs,” by Neil Simon. It is also the location of some of Woody Allen’s scripts.DSCN1519 DSCN1520

I’m not sure if it was this exact one or one at another spot,  but you get the drift. Some of the movie was filmed under the EL where I am standing today, Dec. 5th, 2015, after some shopping in the district.

  1. I still have not watched that movie. I am going to do that this weekend. Perhaps it is available on NetFlicks or the other one we have.
    Absolutely love the images Tupac.

    1. I think you would like this movie alot, Janie, as it is ultimately about a matriarch of a family, the mother and trials and tribulations.. You would identify..

    1. I definitely see a day/night trip in the near future. And going to Little Russia, etc.. A coffee, hamburg, a few nips and tucks. Then back to the drawing board! 🙂

  3. Yes, thank you Mark, this true..You have to be there to experience the nostalgia but that is why movies and chronicallizing scripts and locations is very important to keep the culture and sentiment alive, which is crucial for future reference..That is why I love this site..It is very important..

  4. There she is, standing on the steps, in between shoots of another scene. “citizenjournalists”>>> Long_Island_Lou! You’re in your setting Linda. 🙂 I’m with you dear friend.

    1. Yep, can do. Already added to Local Attractions, but will also add Daily Life.

I remember that location. It is one used quite often as you mentioned in not only movies, but television shows.

Thanks for sharing your journey into the city.
