Another Night of Terror

Delve into the light and dark that is Mark

In the Cornfield this morning, it is serene. Quiet and peaceful is an apt description. No storms overnight or on the horizon to mar the beauty of the new day.

Yet, it was another night of terror long before the break of dawn.

Though this time it was not in the US of A, the terror is just as real. A man in a truck plowed into celebrants in the streets of Nice, France who had watched the fireworks and were enjoying the music on Bastille Day, France’s equivalent to our Independence Day.

As of now 84 people were killed and at least 100 were injured.

No gun was involved. It was a man and a truck.

The reality is harsh. If a person or group is intent on killing and mayhem, a way will be found no matter how many laws and restrictions are imposed.

Sitting in the relative safety of Mark’s Den, the scenes on the television screen seem so surreal. Much like the deadly rampage in Dallas, Texas a week ago was so far removed from my reality here in the Cornfield.

Yet, it still touches me deeply. My heart breaks at man’s inhumanity to humanity.

That’s the way it is in Mark’s Den.

And how is your Friday going?
